Safety Training and OSHA Rules by State

Which OSHA program covers your company depends on where you work and whether you’re a private or public employer: federal OSHA, or one of 29 State Plans. Pick a state to see its rules in plain words, the hazards cited most there, and how My Safety Solution schedules tailgate talks for it.

State Plans for private and public employers (22)

These states and territories run their own OSHA-approved plan, which covers private employers and public-sector employers (state and local, or territorial, government). Some adopt the federal standards; some write their own.

Federal OSHA (27)

No State Plan: private employers fall under federal OSHA, and public-sector employers have no OSHA coverage. These states share one ranking, pooled from 246,599 citations across federal OSHA states; each page shows where that state’s own citations fall.

Pick your state when you set up your company, and the schedule follows that state’s data. 15-day free trial, no credit card required.
